Do you love the woman in your life? Do you recognize her is an incredible gift from the Lord of all creation? Do you understand that she was chosen for you from before you were even born? Do you know how much she loves you, in a sacrificial and unconditional way? Do you feel that love in everything that she does for you, even in things as mundane as the lunch that she packs for you in the morning?
Does knowing these things make you want to give back to her a hundredfold? Does the desire burn in your heart to want to give that special woman the very best that life has to offer? Do you want to give her the ultimate gift, something that is of lasting, eternal value?
Well, I have discovered an incredibly anointed and powerful way to do just that. On the first Wednesday of each month, I fast and pray for my wife. This is just a small way that I can love her as Jesus loved His church, as commanded in Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus. I have been doing this for my wife Connie for about a year now, and I must say, my experience is different each month. One month I may feel quite anointed and full of God’s love for my wife, and the next time it will be a complete struggle, big time. I remember one first Wednesday in particular, when I could not even utter one little prayer all day. I stuck with the fast, and just trusted the Lord to hear the cry of my heart. Regardless of how I feel during the day of fasting and prayer for my wife, I know that the Lord is listening, and that He will honor this sacrifice in a very special way.

✝ Oh my beloved Lord Jesus, you know how much I love the woman that You gave me as my wife and life-partner. You also know how my sacrifices and prayers for her are often completely inadequate and not reflective of the precious gift that she is. Please forgive me for this, and honor my attempts to love her as You command, however feeble those actions may be. Thank You for your understanding and mercy. ✝
Ephesians 5:25-28 (NAB)
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her to sanctify her, cleansing her by the bath of water with the word, that he might present to himself the church in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. So (also) husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
